Job Description
Pastor
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a born again Christian and be called of God to the gospel ministry.
- Must believe in the Trinty Godhead of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the salvation of mankind through faith in the divine Sonship of Jesus Christ, His crucifixion and resurrection, and His shed blood as the only atonement made for sin.
- Ability to conduct established worship services and meetings for the purpose of offering praise, worship, and prayers of God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit; using the Word of God (Holy Bible) for teaching God’s wisdom to the church body in order to live as the Word of God directs; and providing the salvation, deliverance, healing and guidance from God for those seeking.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Two years’ experience in pastor or associate pastor activities preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university, or seminary preferred.
- Must be willing to abide be the By-laws and Articles of Incorporation of Oakhurst Full Gospel Church and to be a member of the Full Gospel Evangelical Association (FGEA) and abide by those doctrines and beliefs.
- Must meet the guidelines of 1 Timonthy 3:1-7.This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not ]covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a ]novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
- Licensed and or ordained preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Leadership Responsibilities: The pastor will give leadership, vision, direction, and focus of the Oakhurst Full Gospel Church so that it may better understand and fulfill its objectives in the community and the world.
- Cooperative Responsibilities: The pastor will function in cooperation within the follow relationships.
- The Board of Trustees: The pastor will work with this body to provide leadership for the entire church body.
- The Church Body: As shepherd, the pastor will provide leadership to the body to enable it to determine its objectives and to develop planning to enable to meet them.
- The Prophetic Function: The pastor will interpret current moral, social, and ethical questions with the Bible as their guide, seeking to make the Gospel relevant and practical in its application.
- The Evangelistic Function: The pastor will lead the church to understand its role in the great commission of sharing Christ with its community and world. This leadership should be an example and exhortation, as well as proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to believers and non-believers alike.
- The Pastoral Function: The pastor will provide pastoral care to the church body. This care may take on the role of counseling, referral, hospital visitation, outreach, in-reach, and care in crisis situations.
- The Teaching Function: The pastor will have the responsibility and oversight of teaching ministry of the church. He will lead in planning and preparation of the worship services. The pastor will avail himself to continuing education in order to stay abreast of current methods and teaching techniques.
Accountability: The pastor shall make himself accountable to the Oakhurst Full Gospel Church Board of Trustees and the church body.
Work Schedule: The pastor shall have a five-day workweek. Sunday morning & night and Wednesday Night being two of those days.
Salary: The Oakhurst Full Gospel Church Board of Trustees will determine and salary recommendations. The salary structure shall be reviewed annually and shall be included in the personnel portion of the annual church budget.
Benefits:
Vacations: The pastor will receive two (2) weeks paid vacation per year, becoming eligible after six (6) months of service. After three (3) years of service he will receive three (3) weeks of paid vacation and after five (5) years of service he will receive four weeks of paid vacation. Vacation time will not accumulate. Time off must have the prior approval of the Board of Trustees except in the case of an emergency when the President of the Board of Trustees should be notified.
Sick Time: The pastor will accrue one day per month up to a maximum of 10 days the first year. Thereafter, the pastor will be permitted ten (10) sick days per year that are non-accumulative and non-transferable.
